About this role

This remote Staff Software Engineer role on Chainguard's Containers team involves designing and shipping the features, services, and build systems behind the company's hardened container images and registry, while leading small groups of two to four engineers. The ideal candidate combines deep technical ownership with product judgment, able to set direction for major new capabilities and guide adoption of secure-by-default tooling used by engineers and AI agents. A notable requirement is leading engineering sub-teams while also owning product direction and technical decisions for a core offering.
